THAT ONE FEELSY ALBUM | About: TRACK 4 | "Colors"

This piece is about discovering self-expression. When I choreographed this piece, I was sick. My mind was cloudy and I was stressed and tired. While I listen to Michael Blume’s lyrics: “All of these colors, bleeding from my head”, I interpret this statement as all of the thoughts that constantly run through your mind and make you feel confused and confined. We’re all wearing grayscale because in society I feel like we all hide our inner thoughts. Whatever is going on up there, we put it to the side, as work, school, etc (obligations) are first. Feelings and thoughts second. During the video, there is a freestyle section where everyone is wearing different colors: that represents individual feeling and expressive creativity. It then returns to grayscale because we constantly blend in with society. My goal of this video is to inspire people to express themselves how they want to and to be proud of their individual creativity. I want to give a shoutout to Michael Yu Chrystina Yu Mel Hsieh Shawn Huang Christian Rodriguez Kevin Wu for doing this project with me. I have looked known/danced with you guys for a long, long time and I respect all of you so much. Thank you for putting in work (literally, they improved on cement floor for this haha) and helping me share my vision.
